Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) is an autonomous parastatal under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. It is an internationally accredited examinations board. ZIMSEC is an examinations board responsible for assessment, evaluation and documentation of the academic readiness, learning progress, and skill acquisition of students at primary and secondary school levels in Zimbabwe. - RISK MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The position of Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing and mitigating risks within the Council’s operations in line with best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring the organisation operates within acceptable risk parameters.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- A good first degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Professional certifications in Risk Management
- Master’s degree in a related field
- At least 5 (five) years’ experience at Managerial Level
- Thorough understanding of risk management principles and frameworks
- Familiarity with compliance standards and relevant regulatory frameworks
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple risk projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Strong IT literacy with the ability to use risk management software and tools
- NETWORK & HARDWARE ADMINISTRATOR
JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent shall be responsible for designing, implementing and troubleshooting computer hardware and network infrastructure for the Council, ensuring that the networking and hardware requirements of the organization are met.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Provide Technical Directions
- Offer second line computer systems (hardware and software) support to all Council system users
- Work closely with ICT help desk personnel.
- Install and configure new hardware and software
- Working with Help Desk personnel.
- Attending to hardware and software configuration issues for users on demand (Helpdesk issues).
- Create and maintain up to date accurate network and hardware documentation
Designing Computer Networks and Support
- Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade the Council’s network (LANs, VPN) and servers
- Install and configure new network equipment to update or remedy hardware or software issues.
- Install and integrate new server hardware, virtual machines, operating systems and applications.
- Assisting in designing, installing, and implementing LANs, WAN/VPN for Council Regional Offices and Head Office.
- Manage and monitor computer networks and systems for performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses/vulnerabilities, and ensure that the Council has a secure, effective and reliable network.
- Recommend and implement any corrective, approved network, hardware and software changes in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Provide network administration services – set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
- Liaising and coordinating with service providers
- Ensure that the council has a secure, effective and reliable network
Ensure system continuity
- Do regular backups as per set policies, updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected and ensure disaster recovery.
- Implementing patches, software upgrades, and maintenance checks with minimum disruptions to operations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Degree in IT/ Computer Science or equivalent
- Professional certification, CISCO/ VMWare would be an advantage
- At least 1 years’ experience as a network technician or relevant position
- Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
- Have skills in the following computer software
-Linux Operating System
-Microsoft systems
-IOS Systems
- Should be techno- savvy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
