Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) is an autonomous parastatal under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. It is an internationally accredited Examinations Board. ZIMSEC is an Examinations Board responsible for assessment, evaluation and documentation of the academic readiness, learning progress, and skill acquisition of students at primary and secondary school levels in Zimbabwe. The Council is inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the following fixed-term vacant position that have arisen.
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating and managing a forklift to load and unload materials and deliveries, moving them to and from storage areas. This position reports directly to the Production Foreperson.
Key Performance Areas
- Load and offload materials in and out of vehicles.
- Move pallet-packed materials around the site or storage facility.
- Optimise loads to ensure operational efficiency.
- Adhere to production schedules.
- Operate and manage technical equipment.
- Inspect vehicles for damages.
- Schedule vehicles for maintenance and repairs.
- Follow safety standards.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Minimum of 5 O’ Level subjects, including English and Mathematics.
- Valid Forklift Operator Certificate
- At least one year of experience in operating forklifts.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
- Knowledge of warehouse health and safety requirements
- Knowledge of industrial storage procedures
- Ability to itemise and record stock for inventories
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Proficiency in operating technical machinery
- Good physical condition
- Mathematical aptitude
- Good organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
