JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to Director Examinations Administration, the purpose of the job is to manage the operations of ZIMSEC Regional Office. The Regional Manager is the interface between the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the Council. She/he is responsible for coordinating all activities relating to Grade 7, ‘O’ Level and Advanced Level examinations.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

THE INCUMBENT SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Checking all new applications for centre accreditation.
  • Conducting centre visits to assess infrastructure and provide recommendations.
  • Investigating cases of suspected examinations malpractice.
  • Cluster mapping of examination centres and analyzing resources required for question paper distribution
  • Collection of scripts
  • Distribution of hard copies results
  • Performing examination spot checks
  • Supervising candidate registration system software installation
  • Offering support services to examination centers.
  • Serving as ZIMSEC’s representative in Ministry’s District and Provincial meetings.
  • Conducting inductions and training for heads of centers
  • In-house staff development

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • A University Degree in Education Management/Strategic Management or Administration.
  • A Master`s Degree in any related field.
  • Extensive experience as an Educationist at a level of a Headmaster, Deputy Head or Education Officer for at least 5 years;
  • Have experience in conducting and supervising examinations.
  • Be capable of training Heads of Centers and Resident Monitors in the conduct of examinations;
  • A holder of a clean class 4 driver’s licence.
